Museum of sacred art

Overview

Inside the chapel of the Assumption in the parish church of St. Verano, the museum houses a Madonna and Child, a work by Enrico di Tedice from the first half of the 12th century and known as 'Delle Grazie' due to the special devotion reserved for it in the area, a 14th-century wooden crucifix and a painting of St. Peter by Giovan Battista Piazzetta. Among the numerous works of sacred jewellery is the mid-15th-century chalice from a Sienese goldsmith's workshop close to Sano di Pietro.
