Monte Amiata

Overview

An itinerary of taste in Maremma

Between sea and hills, on the slopes of Monte Amiata, winds the Road of Wine and Flavors Colli di Maremma that includes the Island of Giglio, Monte Argentario and Orbetello, among the most beautiful places in Tuscany. Here you will discover flavors of the territory that you will never forget.

The Maremma Natural Park offers a slice of unspoiled nature where life flows at another pace between horses that run free, the Maremma cows that graze placid and kilometers of wild coastline.

Stop at the Argentario to sample Orbetello's cephalon bottarga and Porto Santo Stefano's blond shrimp. At the Isola del Giglio try the breadcrumbs with grapes and figs. Taste also the Tuscan pecorino PDO, the chestnut or chestnut honey, the Saffron of Maremma, the meat of Maremmana. The wine not to be missed? L'Ansonica dell 'Argentario and Vermentino di Capalbio, two white DOC. You can also try Bianco di Pitigliano, Morellino di Scansano, Parrina and Sovana.

Along the itinerary of taste you will also discover the villages of Scansano, Manciano and Orbetello. You can walk along the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori Colli di Maremma on foot, on horseback, by bicycle, by motorcycle or by car.
