Luigi Ridolfi Stadium

Overview

The “Luigi Ridolfi” municipal stadium in Florence is a sports facility designed for athletics.

The stadium, dedicated to the memory of the great Florentine athlete Luigi Ridolfi Vay da Verrazzano, was inaugurated in 2001 and immediately offered a modern and functional space that met the needs for which it was designed. It hosts important athletics events and is still used by the city’s football team for home matches.

For several years now, along with being a venue for important athletic events, it has been the training centre for the AIA (Italian Referee Association) in Florence.

In June 2021, it hosted the Pietro Mennea Golden Gala, the third stage of the Diamond League international athletics circuit, and it will also host the 2023 edition.
