Overview
Until the end of January, along the spectacular pedestrian and bicycle path suspended over the lagoon in Via Pordelio, visitors can admire an evocative Lagoon Nativity, a one-of-a-kind composed of over 400 figures. This extraordinary representation, visible all along the 8 km pedestrian and bicycle path suspended over the Venetian Lagoon (the longest in Europe), has been set up once again this year from Ca’ Savio to Ca’ Ballarin, offering an immersive and fascinating Christmas experience.
The representation is curated by citizen Francesco Orazio in collaboration with Somfer, further enriching the setting with details that enhance its charm. The figures, made of marine plywood, are distributed along the entire route through four "village" stations, ideal for enjoying a complete and breathtaking view of the Nativity on water.
But the Lagoon Nativity is just the start of a journey celebrating the nativity tradition along the Cavallino-Treporti coastline. Once again, with the contribution of citizens, associations and parishes, this year it will be possible to visit almost 20 private nativities, created with care and passion, telling tell the story and traditions of local families. These nativities can be visited from 8 December, the opening date of the project ”L’arte del presepe” (The art of the nativity scene), which also includes the inauguration of the Christmas Village curated by Daniel Marangon Goretti, open until 14 January.
