Val Masino

Overview

Among the most suggestive valleys of Valtellina

Considered one of the most evocative valleys of Valtellina, Val Masino is known among climbing enthusiasts thanks to the presence of imposing granite colossi, among which stands the Sasso Remenno, the largest of erratic type in Europe, and the lace Badile, to be climbed with or without ropes. In winter you can opt for an indoor workout in the sports gym of the Multifunctional Mountain Center, in Filorera. The area is also very suitable for trekking, not surprisingly on the Rome trail, among the most important highways of the Alps, the famous Kima trophy is held. Alongside challenging routes, there are many others suitable for families, including woods, rocks, streams and crystal clear waters.

Among the natural reserves of the territory, you can not miss that of Val di Mello, the most extensive in Lombardy. Characterized by an almost flat valley bottom and therefore within everyone's reach, shortly after the entrance you reach the splendid Qualido lake and the famous "Bidet della Contessa", characterized by crystal clear waters.

In spring and autumn we recommend a walk to the Forest of the Baths, a path of paths and ancient mule tracks that starts from Bregolana. Here are the thermal spring of the Baths of Masino, which can be visited all year round, and the Sensory Path created by ERSAF in collaboration with the Blind and Visually Impaired Union of Lombardy.
