Aprica

Overview

The jewel of the Orobie Alps

In an expanse of meadows surrounded by coniferous forests, on the pass that connects Valtellina with Val Camonica, is Aprica, a renowned holiday resort that offers a vast range of activities in both the winter and summer months. Some 50 km of downhill slopes, 14 km for cross-country skiing, dozens of ski lifts and an ice-skating rink are but a few of the fantastic attractions available. If you are travelling with children, we highly recommend stopping by the playground along the banks of the Ogliolo stream.

Just over an hour and a half’s walk away, starting from Aprica or taking the gondola lift over Lake Palabione, is Magnolta, where you will find a reservoir surrounded by stunning greenery. Just a few kilometres away from the village, on the road to the Mortirolo Pass, is the Pian Gembro nature preserve, which is an ideal destination for snowshoe hikers, horse riders or fatbike cyclists. At sunset, you can climb to the summit of Monte della Croce to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, as the entire valley stretches out at your feet.

Do you prefer archery to nature walks? In Al Plà, you will find an outdoor shooting range open throughout the summer period. If you’re a beginner, never fear! Tailored introductory courses and friendly competitions are organised for anyone aged 5 years old and up.
