Barberini Square

Overview

On Quirinal Hill, in the Dolce Vita district, you can discover one of the most famous squares in the historic center of Rome. It takes its name from Palazzo Barberini, home today to one of the city’s most important Art Galleries, where works by Raphael and Caravaggio are exhibited.

In fact, it was precisely a member of the Barberini family who commissioned the Fontana del Tritone (Triton Fountain), by Bernini, built in the center of the square, and particularly beautiful in the evening when it is lit up. At the intersection of Via Veneto and Via del Tritone from Piazza Barberini you can start a journey in the discovery of the city, exploring the nearby Trevi district with its famous Fountain, the adjacent Spanish Steps with the Trinità dei Monti district, giving you time for a little shopping in the most famous streets in the capital.
