Pontedera

Overview

Pontedera is known first and foremost for being the home of Piaggio - the manufacturing brand of the legendary Vespa, the scooter designed by Corradino d'Ascanio and born in 1946 - to which the Piaggio Museum is dedicated. The museum is set up inside the manufacturing plant and showcases a collection of historical and recent vehicles, selected from among the most representative in the company's history. However, Pontedera is not just about wheels and engines, but also about contemporary art that colours the streets and squares, with murals and installations by well-known and lesser-known artists.
