Cala Galera

Overview

A port and a beach at Argentario

On the eastern coast of Argentario, Cala Galera, which overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and is not far from Porto Ercole, peeps out. It was among the first private ports built in Italy, in the 1970s, and is still one of the busiest and most popular moorings on the Tuscan coastline.

Given its outstanding location, the large number of berths and the services offered, the port of Cala Galera is ideal for visiting the area by sea. This is where the Circolo Nautico e della Vela Argentario is located, which holds the oldest offshore sailing championship in Italy.

The small natural bay where the harbour is located provides calm, shallow waters, ideal for a safe family holiday. The small Cala Galera beach is located just beyond the harbour, between the pier and Punta Pertuso.

A sandy beach with a very shallow seabed that makes it possible to walk to the nearby Feniglia beach. In summer, it can become crowded, but it's still clean and accessible. The best time to arrive is early in the morning, so you can enjoy the sea and the sun in peace.
