Val Rendena

Overview

Panoramic views, walks, skiing and villages

Val Rendena, in Trentino, offers not only famous resorts like Madonna di Campiglio, but also lesser-known treasures.

The church of San Vigilio in Pinzolo, located at an altitude of 774 metres, boasts Simone Baschenis’s magnificent fresco of the Dance of Death. From here, you can take a cable car to one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Brenta Dolomites: the Doss del Sabion, with 150 kilometres of ski slopes and a network of paths to hike in summer, stopping at the mountain huts to taste the local cheeses.

In Val Genova, near Pinzolo, we recommend visiting the Nardis Waterfalls. In Carisolo, don’t miss the beautifully frescoed church of Santo Stefano, while in Caderzone you can discover alpine life at the Malga Museum and relax at the Sant’Antonio spring thermal baths. In Strembo, you can walk the Salagadart hiking route, which combines landscapes, literature and art. If you prefer to ride a mountain or electric bike, you can take the cycle-pedestrian path along the Sarca river.

There are also plenty of events and entertainment for all tastes. Every summer, Trentino hosts the high-altitude “The Sounds of the Dolomites” music festival, which ranges from classical music to jazz.
