Tenno

Overview

An enchanting place and alternative destination for those who love the lake and are looking for a quiet location, Tenno enjoys a privileged position between the Mediterranean environment of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. Its 12th-century crenellated castle, crenellated on the top of a cliff, dominates the village, made up of stone houses and narrow medieval streets, with a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Garda. Entering the well-preserved historic core, amidst portals and sacred frescoes, one reaches the church of S. Lorenzo, of early-medieval origins, which preserves the earliest examples of Trentino painting from the 11th century as well as frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries. Not to be missed is the nearby Lake Tenno, unique for its blue-green colour and clear waters. A long staircase leads to the grassy shores of the lake, ideal for a dip in nature, or to photograph the rich palette of colours of the lake and the forest.
