Synagogue and Jewish Museum of Florence

Overview

The Museum, which illustrates the history of the Florentine Jewish community, is spread over two floors. The first section, wanting to tell the relationship between the community and the city over the years, contains examples of furnishings from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, used for synagogue ceremonies, while the second exposes objects and furnishings that depict significant moments and holidays, such as births, weddings or religious majorities. In addition, there is the Memory Room, dedicated to the history of the Jews of Florence, with photographic and archival documents. To complete the route there are two rooms equipped: one for screenings with films and documentaries, and the other equipped with computers connected to the main databases of Jewish museums and research centers around the world.
