Sant'Angelo In Vado

Overview

The village of Sant'Angelo in Vado, a town of mediaeval origins, rises along the upper valley of the Metauro River, in the centre of a picturesque landscape that sees the first hills of the Apennines rise up. Land of the ancient Duchy of Urbino since Gentile Brancaleoni married Federico di Montefeltro, the town recounts this past in the form of its most historic architecture. But above all, this is a land of flavours, a land of truffles: Sant'Angelo in Vado is in fact the capital of the prized white truffle, a product to which a National Exhibition is dedicated every year in November and which has led to the creation of an Experimental Truffle Cultivation Centre.
