Piazza del Popolo

Overview

Situated between Corso Serpente Aureo and Via Roma is Piazza del Popolo, Offida's main square, known for its unusual triangular shape.

This appearance dates back to the second half of the 18th century, when some existing hospital structures were demolished and the new Collegiate Church was built on the left side.

After the unification of Italy, it was named after Victor Emmanuel II, and has been called Piazza del Popolo since 1994.

Rich in monuments, from the Palazzo Comunale (town hall), to churches, to aristocratic palaces, today, as in the past, it is the heart of city life.
