Tremezzo

Overview

Framed by beautiful mountains, with its houses and fine palaces overlooking Lake Como, Tremezzo presents itself as an elegant village of great charm. Its sophisticated beauty is a legacy of the important families that left from this area for northern Europe in search of fortune: they are still called 'the merchants of Tre-mezzina', those who left as traders of the precious local products - citrus fruits, olive oil, laurel and chestnuts - and thanks to them became rich, returning to build the magnificent 17th and 18th century palaces that are still the symbol of the village. Inside, these edifices preserve artistic elements of great value, such as marble mosaic floors, frescoed softti and historical furnishings of immense beauty.
