Overview
Lovers of trekking, mountain walks and breathtaking views – this is the place for you. The route starts from the hamlet of Pilzone d’Iseo in the Brescia countryside, 195 metres above sea level, then climbs to the highest point in the district: a plateau known as “prato del monte”. Here you will find the remains of rustic building dating back to the 15th century.
These include the small church of San Fermo, where local farmers prayed for protection for their livestock and sick children for centuries. The view of the blossoming spring meadows and mountains in the background is nothing short of spectacular and lends itself well to an impromptu day trip or a few hours of absolute relaxation.
The magnificent panorama over Lago d’Iseo below completes a picture that is invigorating for body and soul, especially when viewed from the Big Bench created in 2019 by artist Chris Bangle as part of a project covering the whole of Lombardy.
