Manerba del Garda

Overview

A village by the lake

Manerba del Garda is located on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda in the heart of Valtenesi, amid hills covered with vineyards and olive groves and the Rocca di Manerba Park. All that remains of the medieval fortress, which was destroyed by the Venetians in 1575, are ruins on a rocky outcrop with splendid views of the lake. Beneath the fortress lies a natural park with 400 types of plants, making it the ideal place for a nature walk near the village.

In the town, don’t miss the archaeological museum and the frescoed churches, which bear witness to the area’s long history. In Manerba, you can find traces left behind by the Romans and Lombards. We recommend relaxing on the lakeside and strolling past cafés and small restaurants or taking a swim in the lake. The most beautiful beaches are La Romantica and Pisenze.

You can also enjoy various water activities along the lake’s 11-kilometres shoreline, from SUP to windsurfing to a canoe trip to the Island of San Biagio, also known as Rabbit Island. Nearby is Isola del Garda, with its 19th-century palace and magnificent park. Several nature trails start from the Rocca promontory, including the one connecting Pisenze and Dusano.
