Castione della Presolana

Overview

Hiking and relaxation at the gateway to the Seriana Valley

Castione della Presolana is a small town nestled in the tranquillity of the province of Bergamo, at the foot of the Pizzo della Presolana mountain massif. Of particular interest, within the village, are the Church of San Rocco and the Church of Sant'Alessandro, which house, respectively, ancient fresco fragments and a marble altar rich in sculptures.

Castione della Presolana is renowned for its location, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the nearby Val Seriana. Located between Pizzo della Presolana and Monte Pora, it allows for excursions suitable for all levels, offering breathtaking views and trails immersed in greenery.

Not to be missed is the; The Betrothed's Leap, a vantage point from which the entire valley can be admired. The Salto is so called because of a tragic event at the end of the 19th century. Two young lovers - a Polish musician and his wife - used to spend their days right next to the cliff, until one day they threw themselves into the abyss, dying instantly. The reasons for this act remain a mystery to this day.
