In Umbria, autumn is on the table
On Saturday the 5th of November, take a trip to Umbria and stop in Turrita di Montefalco, the City of Wine and Oil.
Starting in the morning, you can visit the vineyards and the underground cellar, accompanied by an expert guide, at the Lungarotti Estate. At the end of the tour, you can satisfy your palate with an autumn lunch in the cellar created in collaboration with the Il Cavaliere Restaurant, paired with a Falò. This young, fresh, fun wine is designed for those who want to share their meal in company, experiencing a joyful atmosphere, enjoying the flavors of autumn.

At the 2022 edition of Cantine Aperte in San Martino, you will be welcomed by passionate producers. They will not only show you the progress of the harvest that has just ended, but they will also offer you excellent wines from the area, paired with local gastronomy.
The list of wineries participating in the event is vaste. One of many to visit is The Bagnarol winery in the province of Pordenone, on Sunday the 13th of November. After a free welcome glass and open tastings in the Bagnarol garden, it’s on to a guided tour of the vineyard and cellar. So many wines dedicated to the city of San Vito al Tagliamento, the "Terra Sancti Viti", Refosco Dal Peduncolo Rosso DOP Friuli 2021, aged in oak barrels.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to try one of the typical first courses of the area, pumpkin gnocchi with montasio cheese and walnuts. You could also opt for local cold cuts and cheeses, accompanying either choices with a glass of your preferred wine.
Vineyard walks in Lazio
The itinerary of Cantine Aperte in San Martino also involves Lazio on the weekends of the 5th - 6th and the 12th - 13th of November.
In particular, the Lanuvio area and the family-run CantinAmena is recommended. If you visit it on Sunday the 13th of November, you can have the first taste of new wines being produced and an incredible variety of reds, while strolling through its vineyards. In addition, a full brunch will be offered in the cellar.
Campania, glass and a backpack on your back
In Campania, in the Irpinia winery of Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, in the Avellino municipality of Luogosano, the Cantine Aperte in San Martino 2022 is part of another event, which it merges with: The Olive Harvest.
For the occasion, you will be welcomed in the wine cellar with a personal backpack for breakfast. After a long walk amongst the olive groves, it will be time for a toast accompanied by "bread and oil", the timeless countryside snack. You can then have lunch at La Veduta restaurant, a farmers menu with tasting of wines of the Estate.
During lunch, children can participate in an educational workshop, as well as a sensory and tasting journey, which includes blind tasting of jams. Finally, in the afternoon, it will be possible to take a guided tour of the wine cellar, with an explanation of the winemaking and aging process.
