Passo Fedaia

Overview

Located at the foot of the Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites (3343 m), Passo Fedaia marks the border between Trentino and Veneto. Formerly a grazing area, as evidenced by the name that derives from Ladino “feida” (sheep), it is now a starting point for many tourists and nature lovers both in the winter and summer season, attracted by the only perennial glacier left in the Dolomites.

The Marmolada massif is reflected on the waters of the artificial lake used up to 1955 for producing electricity, thanks to the meltwater, giving spectacular reflections and views of the dolomites.

At an altitude of 3000 m you can visit the Marmolada Grande Guerra Museum, the highest museum in Europe which, with its approximately 700 war artefacts, was established so as not to forget the tragic events that took place on the Marmolada during the First World War.
