Limone

Overview

A small gem of Lake Garda

The overwhelming aroma of citrus fruits fills the alleys of this village on the Brescia side of Lake Garda. A rare jewel that has boasted the northernmost citrus fruit cultivation in the world since the 18th century. Garda lemons are the famed product of this land, prized for their shiny peel, intense flavour and medicinal properties.

A great destination for walking, guided trekking, water sports and beautiful beaches, Limone del Garda offers many attractions including the pretty alleys and stone houses of the historical centre. Visit the Castel lemon farm, built in the 18th century and taken over by the municipality in 1995. It will enchant you with its breathtaking view of the town and lake.

Other lemon farms in the area are Tesol and Villa Borghi, containing the Fishermen's Museum. The ride on the cycle path over the lake, suspended between rock and water, is considered the most spectacular in Europe and will delight everyone with its surrounding beauty. Don’t miss the Mostra dell'Olio museum to discover another typical product: Garda bresciano DOP extra virgin olive oil.
