Romano D'ezzelino

Overview

Romano d'Ezzelino lies on the southern slopes of Monte Grappa and is framed by rolling hills, while to the south the vast Veneto plain opens up. There are numerous points of interest, including:

The deep and wild Valle Santa Felicita is one of the most prominent valleys in the Grappa Massif. An ideal place for a number of activities, from trekking to biking, from hiking to free flight. The Valley in fact lies very close to the take-off and landing areas of Semonzo and Romano d'Ezzelino. For climbing enthusiasts, the climbing gym, one of the most impressive in the Veneto region, is not to be missed.

Ca' Cornaro is a magnificent villa set in a 19th-century park. On the inside, 18th-century stuccoes and frescoes can be admired. On the outside, there is a 16th-century lemon house, balustrades and decorative vases dating from the 1920s. Built in 1720, the chapel contains frescoes attributed to Giovanni Battista Canal and two paintings of the Tiepolo school.

Another important point of interest is without doubt, the Castello degli Ezzelini, which has a very long history dating back to pre-Roman times. It had its peak at the time of the powerful Ezzelini dynasty. Some of the remains of the ancient castle date back to the first decades of the 12th century and located on Colle Bastia, where medieval re-enactments are organised every year in the Roman Palio period.
