Pieve di San Pietro di Feletto

Overview

It is said that as early as the first centuries of the Middle Ages the sweet relief of the parish church of San Pietro di Feletto was frequented by faithful Christians, from Refròntolo and other places in the area, to receive baptism.

The architectural structure of today's parish church dates back to about the year 1000. After the entrance staircase there is access to a portico, positioned on the façade, adorned with beautiful frescoes and known in particular for the 'Christ of Sunday', an allegorical depiction of great effect. The bloody figure of Jesus is depicted on the wall, wounded by a series of work tools represented with minute details: the work wanted to remind the faithful that working on Sundays, days of rest and prayer, brings great offences to Christ.

Other frescoes of equal visual impact can also be found inside the parish church, in particular on the walls of the chapel of San Sebastiano.
