Feltre

Overview

A little surprise in Belluno

In the heart of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, the small village of Feltre offers stunning views and sites. Known as the “vertical village”, it owes its nickname to Alboino Castle, a fortress overlooking the old town that dates back to Lombard rule.

For sites of cultural interest, we highly recommend visiting the archaeological area that spreads out under the churchyard of the cathedral. These are the remains of ancient Feltria, dating back to Roman times. Also worth exploring is the Teatro De la Sena theatre, where Carlo Goldoni, one of the fathers of modern comedy, made his debut.

If you get chance, you can also explore the surroundings of Feltre. You can enjoy excursions and nature trails of varying degrees of effort in the area, including the path that runs along Lago della Stua lake, in Val Canzoi, and the routes that lead to Rocca di Arsiè and Lago di Corlo.
