Museo Archeologico Regionale

Overview

Il MAR - Museo Archeologico Regionale, situato sui resti, visitabili, della porta settentrionale della città romana in direzione del Gran San Bernardo, offre al visitatore un percorso che mette in luce le testimonianze archeologiche di Aosta e della regione, dal Mesolitico (VIII millennio a.C.) fino al Basso medioevo, con particolare risalto alla fase della romanizzazione, illustrata da importanti reperti relativi alla vita quotidiana. Un plastico di grandi dimensioni permette inoltre di osservare Augusta Prætoria nel I-II secolo d.C. da una prospettiva aerea. Il museo è dotato di attrezzature interattive, scenografie ricostruttive e un percorso appositamente dedicato alle persone non vedenti.
