Tripozzo

Overview

A small agglomeration of houses, Tripozzo is a hamlet of Arrone. Located on a hill covered with olive groves, from its elevated position it dominates the village and the Valnerina.

The name may derive from the presence of three wells around which the handful of houses and the small church of San Lorenzo are clustered. In addition to the ruins of the old town and an interesting mediaeval well, Tripozzo also preserves the remains of an ancient Roman oil mill, testifying to the antiquity of the settlement and the millenary tradition of olive cultivation, still alive today.
