Rifugio Comici

Overview

Rifugio Comici is located at 2153 m, at the foot of the Sassolungo (Langkofel) in South Tyrol's Gardena Valley. On foot, the route starts from the Sella Pass (2179 m).

The route takes you through alpine meadows and an area called Zità dai Sasc' (City of Stones), one of the few natural "monuments".

Located near the ski slopes of the beautiful Gardena Valley, the refuge is ideal for ski fanatics in winter, but is also the starting point for many hiking and mountaineering routes in summer.

But this isn't just any old mountain refuge. It is a luxurious and particularly fashionable one. Suffice to say that the house speciality is fish, brought in several times a week from Grado (Gorizia).

The appetisers - grilled prawns and champagne - are a must for gourmets on a visit to the Dolomites.

The hors d'oeuvres are followed by a great selection of fine alpine cuisine and delicious desserts.
