Val di Noto

Overview

City of art, a dream sea and nature trails

The Val di Noto or Vallo di Noto, ideal destination for those who love history, culture and art, is a vast region of south-eastern Sicily that extends between the provinces of Ragusa, Syracuse and Catania. There are eight cities in the area inscribed among the UNESCO World Heritage sites for the splendid example of late Baroque that makes its monuments unique, from the historic centers of Caltagirone, Noto and Ragusa through some monuments of Modica, Palazzolo Acreide and Militello Val di Catania, without forgetting some areas of Catania and Scicli.

Val di Noto is also a paradise for lovers of the sea, thanks to some of the most picturesque beaches in Sicily and the whole of Italy and a mild climate that allows you to extend the tourist season from March to November. The area also includes several natural areas of great importance for the Bel Paese, from the Plemmirio Marine Protected Area to the Pachino marshes, as well as many naturalistic routes from which to be conquered, such as the wildlife oasis of Vendicari, the Neviere di Buccheri from which to enjoy a unique view of Mount Etna, the Gulf of Catania and the coasts of Calabria, or the necropolis of Pantalica with more than 5,000 catacombs carved into the rock.
