Minaret of Punta Castelluccio

Overview

An enchanted beach in the heart of Plemmirio

In the heart of the Plemmirio Nature Reserve, a short distance from Syracuse, lies one of the most beautiful beaches on the Sicilian coast. It is the beach of Minareto di Punta Castelluccio and corresponds to Exit 35 of the Sentiero della Maddalena (Magdalena Path), which runs through the entire reserve, parallel to the coast.

It is a small, poetic cove hidden among the cliffs, with golden sand and convenient for families with children. Disabled access is also provided. It is possible both to use the service with sunbeds and umbrellas, and to enjoy the free part of the beach, which is never too crowded.

Access to the sea is convenient thanks to the sandy seabed, but one only has to swim towards the reefs to discover a true underwater paradise with colourful fish and lush posidonia moving in the depths. You will also discover tunnels that cross the headland underwater to emerge on the other side.

To get there, take the Maddalena path in the direction of Capo Murro di Porco and arrive near the Massoliveri lighthouse, following the sign Sbocco 35-Punta Castelluccio. And now relax in the sun, dive into the crystal-clear water, enjoy the reflection of the water on the white rocks. Stay until sunset, which makes the place even more magical.
