Collegiate Basilica of St Sebastian

Overview

The Museum of the Basilica of San Sebastiano consists of three parts: the first is the Baroque basilica, which has one of the most stunning 18th-century façades of any church in eastern Sicily and inside which one can admire paintings by Acese painters, as well as sculptures and furniture. The second part includes the treasure rooms, where jewellery, sacred vessels and liturgical artefacts made from silver and gold are displayed. The third section, located in the 18th-century crypt, consists of a collection of sacred vestments embroidered in gold and silk, high-quality wooden statues and works by famous Sicilian artists.
