Tresnuraghes

Overview

In the western part of the Planargia plateau, caressed by the strip of sea between the Gulf of Oristano and Capo Marrargiu and surrounded by the hills of Montiferru, lies Tresnuraghes. The land on which it stands has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the nuraghi found near the village and as the name Tresnuraghes itself suggests, indicating the three nuraghi located near the centre. The village, then, is characterised by its low houses and, strolling through its narrow streets, it is advisable to stop and visit the small and pretty churches, including those of Santa Croce, San Giorgio, San Lorenzo, Santa Lucia, Santa Maria de S'Adde, Santa Maria di Loreto, San Nicolò and Santa Vittoria. Outside the centre, there is the sea and its beautiful beaches, most notably that of Porto Alabe with its fine pink sand.
