Suni

Overview

There is a legend about the origin of Suni: the inhabitants, it is said, once lived in a place called 'Sa idda ezza' meaning 'the old village', near the church dedicated to Saint Hippolytus and a monastery of Cistercian monks. Certainly real, however, are the very ancient origins of the village, traces of which are still visible in the very interesting archaeological park, which includes the Nuraddeo nuraghe, the domus de janas of Chirisconis, the Seneghe nuraghe in the Modolo valley, the Tiu Virgiliu house-museum in the centre of the village, the 15th-century church of San Pancrazio with a 16th-century simulacrum and the country church of San Narciso. History, therefore, but also nature and flavours: not to be missed is the scenic nature trail that leads to the places where the griffon vulture nests, and you cannot fail to enjoy an excellent glass of wine, since Suni is part of the Bosa wine and Malvasia roads.
