Porto Frailis

Overview

The exquisite beach in Ogliastra

South of Cape Bellavista lies an enchanting arch-shaped cove, sheltered from the winds, set between granite rocks and formed by a silver-gold sandy shore. Porto Frailis is a small beach on the central-eastern coast of Sardinia, just one kilometre from the port of Tortolì.

Guarded by the San Gemiliano tower and shrouded by the green Mediterranean scrub of the surrounding promontories, the area has a sandy seabed, with a few pebbly stretches. The elegant inlet, bordered by typical red porphyry cliffs, is bathed by crystal-clear waters that have repeatedly been awarded the Blue Flag. They range in colour from iridescent blue to emerald green and offer spectacular plays of light, even when the sea is rough.

Water sports enthusiasts find their paradise in Porto Frailis, especially windsurfers and canoeists. The presence of rocks and reefs makes it a perfect destination for snorkelling.
