The town of Tertenia can be defined as the southernmost heart of the Ogliastra area. The town is traversed by the Quirra stream that leads to the vineyards and holm oak forests of Crabiolu, Fustiragili and Bingionniga. The economy is mainly based on tourism, agriculture, sheep farming and in particular the local production of pecorino cheese, a typical cheese that is much loved and exported abroad.
