Cala Pira

Overview

One of the most beautiful beaches in south-eastern Sardinia

Cala Pira is one of the many pearls that embellish the south-east coast of Sardinia, a few kilometres from Villasimius and Cagliari. This small pink bay appears as a 400-metre-long arch of fine white sand bathed by the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and surrounded by impressive dunes covered with centuries-old junipers.

Cala Pira, dominated by the granite tower built in 1639, can be easily reached from both Villasimius and Costa Rei. The particular shape of the bay and the gently sloping seabed make the sea almost always calm, which is also ideal for families with children. Behind the beach opens the unspoilt nature made of junipers, mastic trees, olive trees, pines and eucalyptus trees, ideal for walks surrounded by nature and for relaxation.

The area surrounding Cala Pira is also equipped to welcome travellers on the road in motorhomes, thanks to campsites equipped with all the comforts.
