Tratalias

Overview

After the Monte Pranu reservoir was constructed in 1951, water seepage undermined the foundations of the homes in Tratalias. The village was then abandoned and rebuilt on a hill to the north. Today, the uninhabited village (which never collapsed), has been revived. The single-family houses are plastered in shades of yellow and pink. The manor house (called the “Spanish house”) has also been restored and there are spaces used for exhibitions, workshops and ateliers. In the picturesque old town, you can admire the Romanesque cathedral of Santa Maria di Monserrato.
