Leporano

Leporano is a village that combines the beauty of the Ionian coast with the magic of its historical charm. The fulcrum and symbol of its history is the Muscettola Castle, located at the highest point of the historic centre, a position that still recalls its ancient origins as a defensive fortress. The castle still leaves traces of the feudal power of the families it housed over the centuries. But the history of this area is very ancient and can be found in the Saturo Archaeological Park, where there are the remains of a Roman villa from the 3rd century A.D., the cisterns and the Aragonese watchtower. And finally, following the route from the village to the coast, one arrives at the sea, a sea surrounded by wild nature, a sea of gentle beaches and welcoming bays such as that of Lido Gandoli.
