History and spirituality are at the heart of the identity of this village that stands on the ridge of a gentle rise in the Murgia Tarantina. The heart of the ancient village is its Marchesale Palace dating back to the 16th century: during the 17th century, for fear of an attack by the Turks, Marquis Francesco Maria Dell'Antoglietta decided to fortify the palace, equipping it with a defensive system that includes the massive rusticated portal. History, we said, but also faith and tradition: just outside the village is the Chapel of the Madonna del Favore, whose origin is linked to the legendary finding of an icon of the Madonna in a nearby well.
