Castelluccio Valmaggiore

Overview

A small village in the Monti Dauni, Castelluccio Valmaggiore tells a story that weaves a tangled web of history and unspoilt nature. The past here has left deep traces in the architecture, as narrated by the ancient tower, the only element of the Byzantine castle that once dominated the valley and that, from its strategic position, defended the inhabitants of the village from the advance of enemies and conquerors. On the other hand, leaving the historical centre, whose alleyways and architecture recall past centuries, one finds oneself in an enchanted landscape, between the Bosco del Monte Sidone (Mount Sidone forest), the Celone river and the Freddo torrent, places where one can slow one's pace to find oneself, where one can lose oneself in the green landscape and enjoy an authentic and exciting beauty.
