Museo del Territorio Biellese

Overview

The Museo del Territorio Biellese is housed within the sixteenth-century cloister of the Basilica of Saint Sebastian. The exhibition and educational path consists of six permanent collections. We start from the territory's gallery, with cartographic representations of Biella that show the changes that have taken place in the territory over the centuries. The Egyptian section exhibits pieces from the Corradino Sella collection and some finds from the Egyptian Museum of Turin, deposited in Biella in memory of Ernesto Schiaparelli, an Egyptologist of Biella origin. The archaeological section collects finds from the oldest history of the area, from the first human presences in the Paleolithic to the Roman age. The historical-artistic section offers the most significant works of the local artistic tradition.
