La Morra

Overview

The panorama is the strong point of La Morra, a village that still preserves its ancient medieval layout and that from Piazza Castello, the urban heart of the town, offers a splendid view of the Langhe and the Alps, amidst valleys and verdant heights. In the old town centre, the bell tower, erected in 1710 on the remains of the ancient castle, and the parish church of San Martino, built at the end of the 17th century to a design by Michelangelo Garove, are worth seeing. And then, not to be missed is a taste of local products, accompanied by a glass of good wine: here the wine and food tradition is deeply rooted and represents the basis of hospitality. It is not for nothing that the most popular event is the 'Mangialonga', a route of about four kilometres through vineyards and farmsteads, with many culinary stops!
