Overview
One good reason to explore the fifteen 17th-century chapels along the Via Crucis of the Sacred Mount, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies at the heart of a nature reserve, is that once you reach the octagonal Sanctuary of the Holy Cross, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Domodossola and its surroundings. The baroque church was built in 1657. Inside, you can see statues and frescoes from the 20th century and also the cell inhabited by the philosopher Antonio Rosmini.
