Mombarcaro

Overview

The summit of the Langhe

Its name derives from 'Monte delle Barche', but today it is better known by as 'peak of the Langhe'. From the historical centre of Mombarcaro, perched on a hill towering above the surrounding area, admire all the gentle contours of the Langhe and look out as far as the Ligurian Sea.

The town was once protected by high defensive walls that encircled it as if in an embrace. Today, only an arch built in the 14th century remains of this ancient wall. Enter the heart of the village and stroll through its alleyways, paved with red bricks giving the village an ancient look, a medieval flavour. Stop in one of the many quaint corners to rest, sample the delights of traditional cuisine, enjoy a good glass of wine, a local excellence.
