Overview
At the foot of Mount Legnone and atop Lake Como, Colico is a dream destination for kiters, with the wind blowing at an average of 15 to 18 knots. This position on the border between the mountains and the lake, and at the point where the Adda flows into the Lario, makes it the ideal place to indulge in water sports and mountain activities, all the more so since it has one of the most famous lidos in the Lario area, equipped, surrounded by greenery and with a spectacular view of the Alpine crown. The lakeside promenade runs along the entire shoreline, which in the southernmost part joins the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve. Between the mouths of the Mera and Adda rivers, it is a wetland of over 1600 hectares, with reed beds on the lake framed by mountains, ideal for exploring on horseback or by bicycle, and important for the nesting of numerous bird species.
