Gradella

Overview

There are corners of the countryside that stand out for their colour, a sign that seems to tell us to get to that place because something is waiting for us, and with Gradella di Pandino this is exactly what happens: the yellow of the village stands out in the countryside and leads us into its historical heart. In this small rural village, the houses are painted in this cosy, sunny colour, they have pretty red brick profiles and communicating courtyards that recall the life of long ago. Worth seeing in the hamlet are the elegant 17th-century Villa Maggi, the late 19th-century parish church dedicated to the Holy Trinity and San Bassiano, and the imposing Visconti Castle built in 1355 at the behest of Bernabò Visconti, where the hint of the ancient Middle Ages can still be clearly felt.
