Bay of Salò

Overview

A diverse destination with lots on offer

In the province of Brescia, on the shores of Lake Garda, lies the town of Salò. Located on the Bay of Salò, the town is of Roman origin and is thought to be the earliest village on the Riviera dei Limoni.

The Bay of Salò has a mild climate thanks to the influence of the lake. Walking along the lakeside which extends for about three kilometres, close to the jetty you can admire not only the scenic landscape but also the beautiful historic buildings of Salò, the home of the municipal offices still decorated with the splendid frescoes painted by Angelo Landi. Also of interest are the Church of Our Lady of the River, built in the 18th century, and the Cathedral of the Most Holy Annunciation with its stunning interior.

You are at the foot of Monte San Bartolomeo, among cypresses, olive trees and oleanders. From the bay, there are boats that will take you on trips to the lakeside beaches (some of them also allow dogs onboard), or to visit other sights of Lake Garda.

Sports clubs and a large sailing school make this the perfect destination for sports enthusiasts.
