Varigotti

Overview

Varigotti, a hamlet of Finale Ligure, centuries ago was a fortified port, built to protect the territory from incursions that, coming from the sea like storms, endangered territory and population. Today, all that remains of this ancient history is the ancient vestige of the watchtower on Punta Crena: from this height, the view sweeps over the entire gulf and reaches as far as Capo Noli, guarding a marvellous secret bay beneath the cliff, hidden between caves and white sand. Today, the village, with its arabesque style inherited from the Saracen influence, is a maze of small, intertwined alleys leading to the sea, which attracts it with its mysterious force: on the beaches the old fishing boats are moored and the atmosphere is that of a seaside village that lives in symbiosis with its identifying element... the sea.
