Sentiero del Pellegrino

Overview

Panoramic hiking between Noli and Varigotti

If you are looking for a hiking route with fantastic views but you’re not an expert hiker or you have children, the Sentiero del Pellegrino (Pilgrim’s Path) is perfect for you. This route runs between Noli and Varigotti, in the province of Savona, for just under 5 kilometres. You can travel it on foot or, if you prefer, by mountain bike.

Don’t be put off by the initial stretch, which climbs steeply from Via Strada Vecchia in Varigotti: your effort will be worth it when you see the splendid views after a few hundred metres.

Along the trail are beautiful sites, including the Church of San Lorenzo, the Torre delle Streghe (Witches’ Tower), the Punta Crena cliff and the Cerisola Mausoleum, with its polychromatic tiles and ceramics. The most fascinating spots include the Grotta dei Falsari (or Grotta dei Briganti), a cave eroded by water: hold on to the ropes along the path to avoid slipping!
