Movimento Turismo Del Vino Italia

Overview

A journey to discover wine culture

In Foligno, the Movimento Turismo del Vino Italia (Italian Wine Tourism Movement), which is a non-profit association that brings together about a thousand prestigious wineries, has been active since 1993.

This agricultural association is an effective example of how it is possible to do business without neglecting traditions, the environment and agriculture. Wine tourists can learn about the activities and products of all the wineries that belong to the Movimento by participating in events, fairs and international conferences.

There are plenty of routes offered in the wineries of the different regions of Italy, all aimed at promoting wine culture through visits to areas with a strong wine vocation. Among the numerous events organised by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Italia throughout the year, special mention must go to “Cantine Aperte”, which is scheduled for the last Sunday in May and takes visitors inside the places where wine is produced. Not forgetting “Calici di Stelle”, with tastings and open-air shows in August, “Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia”, to experience the atmosphere of the festival dedicated to the grape harvest, and “Cantine Aperte a San Martino”, to toast the new agricultural year.
