Villa Manin

Overview

Built for the noble Friulian family Manin from the sixteenth century, in the first half of the 1700s it became his country residence. Designed by the architect Domenico Rossi, it is characterized by numerous reception rooms embellished with frescoes in the vaults. Among these we remember the one with the Triumph of Spring made by Louis Dorigny. Of great value are also the chapel of Sant'Andrea and the sacristy enriched by the works of Giuseppe Torretti.

Inhabited by the last Doge of Venice Ludovico Manin, Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Giuseppina Beauharnais, the historic residence is currently a cultural center that hosts art exhibitions along with cultural and musical events. Its rooms are furnished with paintings and antique furniture and you can also visit a permanent exhibition of carriages.

The building stands in the middle of a lush park . Walking in its pretty paths you can admire stone sculptors and numerous botanical species. It is chosen as a location for theatrical events and related to the world of floriculture.
